The celebrated Boston Dragon Boat Festival has been held annually on the Charles River since 1979. As the longest-running festival of its kind in North America, this celebration of Chinese art and culture grew from a small neighborhood event into the largest Asian-American cultural festival in New England. The Dragon Boat Festival draws more than 30,000 people each year. Due to ongoing CDC recommendations, 2021 marks another milestone: the festival has gone virtual for the first time.
