Celebrate Fall in Boston at The Envoy Hotel

Fall is upon us, and as the days gets progressively cooler, it’s time to sit back and unwind in one of the coolest cities in the US – Boston. Whether you are a foodie, visiting as a family, a photographer, or simply someone who is looking for something new to discover, our city truly has it all.

October is as good a month to visit Boston and stay at  as any, as our city is always teeming with life and events for every age and interest. However, the fall season does offer some unique experiences and sights to see this time of the year! The beautiful crimson and gold leaves begin to appear in early October, and this signals a bountiful time to travel and feed your soul in one of the most iconic cities near the sea.

Apple picking should be high on your list as a fun family activity. Autumn is the perfect time of year to visit local farms for a fun-filled day of apple picking. There are dozens of farms throughout the area, and many offer different varieties of apples and experiences. Boston Hill Farm offers daily hayrides in and out of the apple orchard and their pumpkin patch.

If you’re looking for a spot to spend the day enjoying the changing of the leaves, Walden Pond in Concord is a nearby guest favorite. The breeze is refreshing and the leaves are extremely colorful this time of year. Walden Pond is a state reservation that encompasses 335 acres of protected open space. Hike the wooded trails that frame the pond and witness the beauty of the 102-foot deep glacial kettle-hole pond – not a spot to miss out on.

Around Halloween is one of the best times all year to visit Salem, MA. While it’s a bit of a trek, The Salem Witch Museum is a prime Halloween destination. It’s a must-see attraction for families and couples. Expect gently spooky fun, informative historical context, and an all-around good time, unique to this time of year.

Halloween on the Harbor is a trick-or-treating event especially for adults, celebrated on the Boston Waterfront. It’s a fun and laid-back way to explore the seasonal scene along the waterfront while trying a mix of popular bars. Make sure to wear your costume!

While we have a few autumn entrees and drink specials here at The Envoy, there are many places to choose for dining on Thanksgiving if you plan to visit at the end of November. Whether you want to bring the whole family or go out as a couple, call ahead to make reservations and you’ll be all set.

And finally, one of our favorite spots for getting into the holiday spirit is at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The light show “Blink!” and holiday Christmas tree lights go up in early November and help set the mood for the upcoming festivities. Shopping this time of year gets crazy, so make sure to plan ahead and allow extra time for travelling and enjoying your afternoon.

Already excited to visit? Make sure you  ahead of time at The Envoy Hotel to gain access to everything that our eclectic and wonderful city has to offer this fall – we look forward to your stay!
