The lights are on. We’re just smarter about how we keep them that way. High-efficiency lighting and smart building controls help The Envoy use energy more thoughtfully across the hotel.
The longer view matters, too. We measure greenhouse gas emissions annually, track our progress, and are working toward a short-term reduction target and net-zero emissions by 2050.
Every Drop Counts
Consider it a change in flow. Low-flow showerheads, tap aerators, and water-saving toilets help reduce water use throughout our guest rooms, with additional conservation measures at work across the hotel.
The difference may be hard to spot. That’s the point. Less water used. Nothing missed.
Thinking Beyond the Bin
Around here, “done” doesn’t always mean discarded. Refillable bath amenities and in-room recycling help cut waste where you stay. And when fresh linens and towels can wait another day, you can choose to skip housekeeping—saving another wash, and the water and energy that come with it.
And that’s just what you can see. Behind the scenes, we recycle everything from cardboard and glass to electronics and batteries, give usable furniture and equipment a second life through donation or resale, choose environmentally preferable cleaning products, and measure how much waste we divert along the way.
Good Taste. Less Waste.
What comes into the kitchen should be put to good use. We regularly audit food waste and rethink it from every angle, from ordering and prep to making ingredients work harder across the menu. What’s left? Organic waste is separated for composting, and there’s even an herb and vegetable garden growing right here at The Envoy.
We’re rethinking the extras, too. Bulk and reusable options take the place of individual servings where possible, compostable containers make takeout a little lighter, and straws and stirrers are available on request, in paper or reusable alternatives.
Good Neighbors Go Further
A hotel should know its neighborhood. Better yet, it should be part of it. The Envoy supports community and park cleanups, local infrastructure and social initiatives, and conservation efforts that help protect biodiversity close to home.
We also back local entrepreneurs creating products and services rooted in the area’s nature, history, and culture, while bringing elements of local art, architecture, and cultural heritage into the hotel experience. A dedicated charitable fund supports environmental and social organizations and community events, and our team has opportunities to volunteer during working hours for causes that move the community forward.
